🐛 finding out who you are

Hi Reader,

Didn't expect me back so soon?

There's so much I feel like sharing these days that I decided to turn this into a bi-monthly newsletter!

You can expect to see me pop into your inbox every 2 weeks on Friday with a bit (or a lot) of writing, helpful resources, & updates.

Here we go

Yogic Mindset

I often have to explain to normal folks why I’m so crazy about Yoga. "Isn’t it just some exercise routine to get fit?" Nope 😜

Yoga is not about fitness and inspirational quotes - as you can see in my latest rant on IG.

It definitely brings physical benefits, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

There are many ways to talk about this body of wisdom, but for today I’d like you to consider this:

Yoga is the art & science of YOU.

Life is one big experiment and you get to decide if you want to take part in it actively and consciously.

The thing is, we're not the self experts we like to think.

Who you think you are is NOT the same as who you are.

The yogis see this as the #1 source of all our problems.

If only we could lift the illusion, all difficulties would be removed.

Here’s a personal example:

The other day, I was trying to work and got really frustrated with myself. For some reason I couldn’t get anything done.

My thoughts were all tangled up and confused. The more I struggled the more I painted the worst picture of myself.

Beating myself up thinking “what is wrong with me??”
I was deep in self-criticism and shame.

Eventually I regained sanity. But while I was entangled in this situation, I felt miserable... and it was completely self-inflicted.

Can you relate? As you can imagine it was not a nice place to be.

And yet, it’s one we all go to regularly, in some shape or form.

Hopefully you find a way to interrupt these negative loops and gain perspective.

You can see this as a passing experience, not some fundamental truth about who you are.

Falling in these states is akin to being asleep and freaking out about the tiger that’s chasing you.

Eventually you wake up & realise it’s all happening in your mind.

With Yoga, you go about investigating all the layers (physical, mental, emotional) of what it's like to be you through various practices such as movement, breath and meditation.

As your awareness grows, you're able to stop identifying with your temporary ways of being and connect to the ground of experience.

It becomes easier to consciously step into the world without feeling swept away by its ever-changing flux.

This opens up the possibility for a larger way of living.

The only thing standing in the way really, is the ego.

That's because it has vested interested in the limited view of the self. It’s just trying to do its job and hanging on for dear life!

This means that growth feels uncomfortable.

True freedom can be a scary thing.

But you don’t have to “break out” Thelma & Louise style, metaphorically riding off a cliff in a grand romantic gesture.

Remember how I said this yogic approach is practical?

That’s because there's a whole lot of practice.

With the right guidance, you can use your time on the mat or on the cushion as a safe container.

You can explore and stretch beyond your limiting beliefs, reset your nervous system and rewrite the programs in your mind.

This expanded way of being frees up a ton of ENERGY so you can show up for what you care about in your unique beautiful way.

Which is, frankly, what the world needs most.

I need your help ❤️

I'm working on something and would love your input...

I'm creating a yoga offering for the self-starters out there who are looking to shift out of feeling burned out & disconnected to vibrant & aligned.

If it's you or you've been there before, let's get on a call or grab a coffee. For the first 3 participants, I'm offering a free private session with yoga & meditation plan custom-built just for YOU.

It's a journey I've been on myself and it would mean a lot to be able to help others through this kind of support & prevention :)

With love x

Hi Reader, The other day I found myself watching a video about this new workout to look lean & sexy in under 15min a day. I scrolled down and was shown a powerful meditation technique that can 10x your productivity. Then spent the next hour googling / fantasizing about this perfect body and focused mind that could be mine if only... (ofc without actually trying a single of these exercises 🥲) Let's face it, the wellness & self-dev industry is NOISY. It can leave us feeling overwhelmed and...

Hi Reader, did you miss me? :) I blanked out on sending last week's NL because I was SO EXCITED about hosting my 1st yoga retreat! And it went amaziiiing 🎵 Finding SPACE was the main theme of the retreat and it was a great opportunity to reset in a supportive and quiet environment. The real flex though is how to bring this renewed energy, calm and balance within everyday conditions that are far from "perfect". When the phone is pinging every 5min, more work is added to your already full...

Hi Reader, It's good to be back! I just returned from 3 weeks in Goa (India) to connect with the land of yoga and deepen my personal practice. Do you know it was the first time I ever went to a yoga retreat? Of course I was like a kid at a candy shop 😇 I met the most wonderful teachers, made new friends, had an 'ashram'-like experience, immersed myself in the local culture... and filled my heart to the brim. Most of us look at the turn of the year as a time to look ahead. Instead I tried to...
